3 Steps To Get Your Executive Resume into the Hiring Decision Maker’s Hands

Getting your executive resume into the decision-maker’s hands can be such a frustrating process. From ATS programs to gatekeepers it’s enough to feel like you’ve dropped your resume into a black hole.

But, with these 3 steps to improve your chances of getting your resume in the hands of a hiring manager, you will see there’s light at the end of the tunnel and an interview for your DREAM JOB within your reach!

Step #1:

  • Take the time to research your potential employer on LinkedIn. For example, check out the people who work there and see if you have any direct connections to the organization.

Step #2:

  • Once you see how you are connected to the company, ask for an introduction through your first, second or third-degree connections to the hiring manager.

Step #3:

  • Now it’s time to mix both online and offline communication techniques. Once you find someone to connect with at the company using online research, get creative in your follow-ups to possibly schedule an in-person meeting, set up a phone call, or attend a meeting/conference/event where you’ll be able to share your qualifications to take the next step.

While none of these tactics on their own offer the magic bullet to get your resume in front of the hiring decision-maker, the more you practice your research and communications strategies in networking and follow-through, you’ll begin to yield the results you want.

Resilience and persistence are key to finding your dream job.
